Air Cadets Squadron recruiting for cadets January intake

ATCAlan Holden from Lambourn is the Commanding Officer at 1861 (Wantage) Squadron Air Cadets. This is the nearest squadron for young people living in Lambourn. We are in Icknield Way, Wantage next to the shooting club and scout HQ. He is currently recruiting young people for our January intake.

We offer many and varied activities and opportunities including flying, gliding, shooting, Duke of Edinburgh awards (subsidised by the RAF) and cadets can attain BTEC's in Aviation Studies and Teamwork and leadership sponsored by the MOD. I would very much like to offer these opportunities to young people in Lambourn. They must be at least 12 years old and in year 8 or higher at school.
All of our staff are enhanced DBS checked and some have higher security clearances.
Our subs are £10 per month and uniform is provided free. The vast majority of our activites are entirely free. Things we do have to charge for we keep as low as is humnaly possible. Flying is free, shooting is free. Annual camp on an RAF base (including transport, food, accomodation and all acitivities) costs as little as £50 for seven days.
